Spin Master's latest presentation

In Spin Master's latest presentation it is revealed that Bakugan is already in development. However there is also another boys-action-show, for which Spin Master already is in negotiations with key networks and will start before Bakugan. It is likely that this new series will start in this year and that Bakugan will start next year. However it also could happen that the new series starts in 2018 and Bakugan in 2019.

Finally Snack World's timeslot has been announced. According to the Japanese Wikipedia Snack World will start airing on April 13, 2017 at 7:25 PM (JST), taking over Naruto's timeslot. It will be Level-5's first of three major launches this year, prior to Megaton Musashi and the Relaunch of Inazuma Eleven, which are expected to occur in summer.

Do you still know...

Let's look back a bit. At the start of the new millenium Nelvana licensed three anime series: Card Captor Sakura, Medabots and Beyblade. Apparently Beyblade was the most successful of these, leading to Nelvana winning several awards. But in 2005 it ended in the United States after it already ended in Japan in late 2003 and in some European countries such as Germany in 2004. Most likely soon after Beyblade ended Nelvana entered into talks with Spin Master to create a toyetic series which could replicate the success of Beyblade. As early as in September 2006, just a bit more than one year after Beyblade ended, Nelvana announced Bakugan on its Investor Day which was by then annual. Probably one year later, when Bakugan only unsuccessfully aired in Japan and soon after in Canada, Nelvana entered into talks with d-rights to revise Beyblade. Beyblade: Metal Fusion was officially announced in April 2008 shortly after Bakugan started in the U.S. and started turning into a massive hit. In April 2009 Beyblade: Metal Fusion started in Japan, the same time Bakugan: New Vestroia started in North America. From 2008 to 2011 Nelvana announced a new season of Beyblade or Bakugan on their Investor Day. In 2012 Bakugan ended in North America and was, ironically, continued in Japan the country it never was as successful as in North America, with BakuTech Bakugan. At that time Beyblade was as well declining, as Shogun Steel ended in Japan in the end of the same year. However Nelvana still wanted to continue Beyblade and even created three western exclusive series. While Beywheelz was still successful, the ratings heavily dropped with Beywarriors: Beyraiderz and Beywarriors: Cyborg even never aired in North America. In November 2014 Battle of the Planets was announced, seemingly an attempt to establish another toyetic anime in Nelvana's portfolio. Obviously d-rights originally took the initiative and expressed interest in reviving a successful American adaptation of a Japanese anime series from the 70s. However an official confirmation that Battle of the Planets is still planned has yet to be made. Corus Entertainment still doesn't list an Investor Day or another event which could be an opportunity for an announcement. So we still have to wait and it's still unknown whether Nelvana will be involved in anime in the future.

New season of Buddyfight

As Bushiroad announced during a live stream there will be another season of Buddyfight. It might be similar to when Bushiroad started Cardfight! Vanguard G: The same continunity, but new main characters and perhaps some old ones. Previously Buddyfight had three seasons, the first consisting of 64 episodes, the second 50 and the third perhaps 51 or the same number. Battle of the Planets

Anyone who remembers the announcement of the reboot of Battle of the Planets more than two years ago? Well Nelvana and their parent company Corus Entertainment currently don't seem to have any plans regarding Battle of the Planets. Their most recent presentation only features Mysticons, Hotel Transylvania, The Zhu Zhu's and Esme & Roy. However an Investor Day hasn't occurred for more than two years and on this occasion it also could happen that Nelvana confirms again that Battle of the Planets is on its way. In previous years the most new Beyblade and Bakugan seasons were announced on the Investor Day. Apparently Nelvana still planned Battle of the Planets as of June 2016. However there has yet to be an official confirmation as the anticipated launch in Fall 2017 is coming closer.

Tomica

As it was announced a few days ago, Takara Tomy and TBS work together once again, this time on the anime adaptation of a well-known toyline by Takara Tomy, which previously had two tokusatsu seasons back in 2008 - 2010. Instead of TMS Entertainment, this time OLM animates the series. Obviously Kamiwaza Wanda wasn't successful enough, as Takara Tomy's presentation last November showed that it would only continue into 2017 instead of 2018 as it was predicted in May, while Beyblade will continue well into 2019.
